It is amazing that we are so interested in space travel, especially the exploration of the moon and Mars, and have spent so much money and effort. However, how many people can tell what phase of the moon they are seeing when they look at the moon at night? Even the TV weather person does not care to show the correct photo of the phase of the moon. The moon rotates on its axis and goes around the Earth. The Moon's rotation period is exactly the same as its orbital period around Earth . That is why from the Earth, the far side of the moon is not visible.
